Officials told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the scuffle took place at Ganie Mohalla, Budgam, where a quarrel between women suddenly turned violent. During the fight, two women received injuries and were rushed to District Hospital Budgam for treatment. Doctors at the hospital provided them with immediate medical care but later referred them to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar for better treatment and detailed examination.

The injured women were identified as Jamela Banoo, aged 45, wife of Mohammad Rafiq Khan, and Ruqsana Akhter, aged 40, daughter of Mohammad Akbar Khan. Both are residents of Ganie Mohalla, Budgam. Their condition is being monitored by doctors at SMHS Srinagar and further updates on their health are awaited.

Soon after the incident, police reached the spot and started an investigation into the matter. Officials confirmed that they are trying to find out the reasons behind the scuffle and whether it was a domestic matter or a dispute between neighbours. A senior officer assured that all aspects will be looked into and action will be taken as per law.

Locals of the area expressed concern over the incident and said that disputes at home or within neighbourhoods should be resolved peacefully before they lead to violence. They stressed that patience and communication are important to avoid such unfortunate situations. Community elders also appealed to the people to maintain peace and harmony and urged them to seek help from local authorities whenever conflicts arise.

The Budgam scuffle once again shows how a small argument can turn serious and cause injuries if it is not handled calmly. While the injured women are under treatment at SMHS Srinagar, the police investigation is going on and further details will be known once the inquiry is complete.
