The government of Jammu and Kashmir is making sure that people get all the important items they need every day. Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services and Sports, Satish Sharma, said that the supply of food grains and other goods is running smoothly even in tough weather. Every day, about 36,150 quintals of essentials are being delivered with the help of trucks across the Union Territory.
Essentials Supply in Kashmir Division
Minister Sharma shared that in the Kashmir division, around 210 trucks are used daily. These trucks carry nearly 20,000 quintals of rice, wheat, and other important items. This is done so that people living in both cities and villages do not face any shortage.
Essentials Supply in Jammu Division
In the Jammu province, nearly 190 trucks are moving every day. Together, these trucks carry almost 16,150 quintals of goods, including food grains and LPG. This supply makes sure that the people in Jammu also get their daily requirements without any breaks.
Total Trucks in Use
Adding both divisions, nearly 400 trucks are working day and night to transport essentials across Jammu and Kashmir. These efforts are helping the government to keep markets steady and avoid shortages in any area.
Government’s Priority
The minister said that the timely supply of food grains, LPG, and other items is the most top priority of the government. He also directed the officials to keep extra stocks in far-off and vulnerable areas, so that even if the weather gets bad, people will not suffer.

The Minister also praised the drivers, transport authorities, and government departments for working hard. He said that close teamwork between the Food Department, JKSRTC, and Transport Department is very important to ensure that goods reach every corner of Jammu and Kashmir.
With these steps, the government is making sure that no family in J&K faces problems in getting their daily essentials.
