The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Kashmir carried out fresh raids in Anantnag and Pulwama today. These searches are linked to the case of Hizb-ul-Mujahideen commander Amin Baba, who escaped to Pakistan in 2005. This case also involves former MLA Gul Rafeeqi and some others.
Why the Raids Happened
According to the SIA statement, the escape of Amin Baba was planned with the help of the ex-MLA and his aides. They arranged a fake passport for him and even used the MLA’s official vehicle to take him from Anantnag to Attari border, which helped him cross into Pakistan.
Background of the Case
Back in 2005, an FIR No. 98 was first filed at Bijbehara Police Station. Later, in 2023, the case was handed over to the SIA Kashmir for a detailed and professional investigation. Since then, SIA has worked actively on it.
Progress Made So Far
The SIA has already filed a charge sheet against four people, including the former MLA Gul Rafeeqi and his private secretary. At the same time, the search for other accused persons is still going on.

Today’s Fresh Raids
The latest raids in Anantnag and Pulwama are part of the ongoing efforts by the SIA to collect more proof and ensure that all people involved in the escape are punished. The agency has said it will not stop until justice is delivered.
These steps show how SIA is continuously working to dig out the truth and bring everyone guilty in this case before the court.
