In an inspiring step to strengthen ties between police and the community, Kulgam Police flagged off a group of 83 students for a week-long Bharat Darshan Tour under the Civic Action Programme (CAP). The tour, flagged off on September 12, 2025, aims to give young students exposure to India’s cultural richness, modern institutions, and diverse heritage. To ensure smooth management, the students are being accompanied by five caretakers throughout the journey.
The flagging-off ceremony took place at District Police Lines Kulgam, where SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS formally inaugurated the tour. He was joined by DySP DAR Shri Mohd Ayub Rather along with other senior district police officials. The presence of senior officers made the event memorable, reflecting the commitment of the police force towards the welfare of the youth.
While addressing the students, SSP Kulgam underlined the importance of Bharat Darshan tours in shaping young minds. He encouraged the participants to view the programme as a rare chance to explore India’s vast diversity. He urged them to learn values like unity, peace, discipline, and national integration during the journey.
The SSP also highlighted that the tour is not just about sightseeing but also about exposure to India’s glorious history, heritage, and modern achievements. He noted that such initiatives instill confidence, enhance personality, and guide the energy of youth in a positive and constructive direction.
The entire programme is fully sponsored by Kulgam Police, covering every aspect of logistics such as air travel, boarding, lodging, guided tours, and AC transport. The itinerary includes visits to New Delhi and Chennai, where the students will get a chance to see historical monuments, prestigious educational institutions, reputed industrial units, and tourist attractions.
To make the journey comfortable, each student has been given a travel kit that includes a tracksuit, sports shoes, cap, and a carry bag. These small but thoughtful arrangements are aimed at ensuring a safe and convenient travel experience.
