Union Bank of India has extended support to flood relief efforts in Jammu and Kashmir by donating ₹1 crore. The cheque was formally handed over to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar.
Expressing gratitude, the Chief Minister appreciated the gesture of the Bank and said that such contributions will go a long way in supporting relief and rehabilitation of the affected families. He added that collective efforts from institutions and individuals are very important to help the State recover from this calamity.
Meanwhile, MLA Banihal Sajjad Shaheen and MLA Budhal Javid Iqbal also called on the Chief Minister at the Civil Secretariat. They discussed major developmental issues related to their constituencies and requested government support in addressing the needs of the people.
The Chief Minister assured both legislators that the concerns raised would be looked into carefully and necessary steps will be taken to ensure balanced development across all regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
