Director General (DG) of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), GP Singh, on Tuesday said that the CRPF always stands with the people of Kashmir in every situation. The DG flagged off the third edition of the Yashasvini High-Altitude CRPF Women’s Bike Expedition 2025 from the historic Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack, Singh said, “I salute the martyrs and those who were honoured with the Ashoka Chakra, the nation’s highest gallantry award.”
He also praised the women riders of the CRPF who are beginning a seven-day, high-altitude expedition from Lal Chowk to Pangong Tso and back, covering around 1,400 km via Khardung La.
“I extend my greetings to all of you moving forward with courage. You are the torch-bearers of CRPF and deserve special appreciation and gratitude,” Singh said.
The DG further acknowledged the officers leading the expedition, including DIG Balav Sharma, Brigadier SP Rai, and DK Singh. He pointed out that the riders will face extreme challenges such as altitudes of nearly 18,000 ft, sub-zero temperatures, and tough living conditions. Yet, he said, the riders are moving ahead with determination and deserve best wishes.
Speaking about the symbolic importance, Singh said, “This mission reflects CRPF’s role in India’s internal security for the past sixty-six years. Flagging it off from Kashmir’s Lal Chowk fills me with immense happiness, pride and honour.”
He also thanked the people who gathered at Lal Chowk, especially the locals, saying their support inspires CRPF to serve and protect with even more dedication.
It is worth mentioning that the Yashasvini High-Altitude Bike Expedition 2025 is the third edition of the special Mahila Bike Expeditions series, aimed at promoting courage, pride, and testing mental and physical strength.
